Electrical Insulation

INQUIRE

Electrical Insulation is essential in components where electricity is present. They can help provide protection to the products themselves, and the people using/working with them. Some common insulator materials are rubber, plastic, and certain fiber and paper materials such as vulcanized fiber and fish paper.

Materials such as Formex™ is an electrical insulation material that is made out of durable and flexible polypropylene material, offering superior protection for sensitive electronic components & machinery such as air baffles or other baffles, and serve as a barrier to prevent consumers and service workers from experiencing electric shock. Insulators are used to protect us from the dangerous effects of electricity flowing through conductors. Sometimes the voltage in an electrical circuit can be quite high and dangerous.

Electrical Insulation is ideal for:

  • Electrical Insulation
  • Electrical Isolation
  • Electrical Resistivity
  • Dielectric Strength

Common Applications for electrical insulation:

  • Appliance Controls
  • Electrical Devices
  • Automotive Controls
  • Electrical Insulation
  • Circuit breakers
  • Railroad track insulation
  • Bushings for motor contacts

Common Materials used for electrical insulation:

  • 3M™ FRB® Flame Series
  • Mylar® Polyester
  • Kapton® Polyimide
  • Nomex® Fiber Paper
  • Teflon® PTFE
  • Formex™ Polypropylene
  • Statex™ Polypropylene
  • Lexan® Polycarbonate
  • Rogers BISCO® Silicones
  • Electrical (Fish) Paper
  • Vulcanized Fiber
  • PVC
