Nitrile (Buna-N) Sponge Gaskets Provide Resistance to Oils, Fuels, Gases, and Fluids
SRP has been providing custom converted Nitrile (Buna-N) Sponge products to various industries for many years. Nitrile (Buna-N) Sponge gaskets can be manufactured and supplied in a variety of different shapes, sizes, and thicknesses. SRP can custom laminate tapes to Nitrile (Buna-N) Sponge materials to create an adhesive backed component for a part that requires adhesion to various surfaces.
Nitrile (Buna-N) Sponge gaskets are an excellent for sealing applications that require resistance to:
- oil and gasoline
- solvents and acids
- mineral and vegetable oils
- hydraulic fluid
Nitrile separates itself from other sponge materials due to its compression set, tear, and abrasion resistance. It has a working temperature range from -40°F to +275°F. If your application consists of ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or nitro hydrocarbons, Nitrile would not be a recommended material.
Nitrile (Buna-N) Sponge Gaskets are commonly used for industrial and automotive applications, in products such as:
- fuel and oil handling hoses
- petroleum oil seals
- hydraulic fluid seals
- transmission fluid seals
- shock and vibration mounts
Premium grades of Nitrile are mostly used for engine gaskets such as carburetor and aircraft hoses. Premium Nitrile comes with a cost increase.
We provide application solutions for gasketing, cushioning, sealing, protecting, shielding and more! We can supply samples of materials and run quick prototyping if any material or part testing is required.
