SRP can convert pretty much any flexible material. This includes fiber or paper materials such as Nomex that are primarily used in the electronics industry in applications where electrical currents can be an issue to our safety. Below is a list of fiber materials that we commonly convert in our facilities for customers using these materials for industrial, electrical, automotive, and lighting industries including LED’s.
3M™ Flame Barrier FRB Series
The 3M™ Flame Barrier FRB Series is flexible insulation for OEM electrical thermal management applications. The FRB Series products are made primarily of inorganic materials that are intrinsically flame retardant with good dielectric strength. The key features of these products include being an inorganic-based, halogen-free, base material with UL 94 5VA flame rating, has excellent ignitability resistance and excellent arc and track resistance, good dielectric strength, and is dimensionally stable with very low moisture absorption and very low shrinkage at high temperatures. FRB materials are generally lower weight, and more cost-effective compared to similar materials. Typical applications include: general purpose lighting, electric and hybrid electric vehicles, appliances, and electrical devices.
Nomex Fiber Paper
Nomex provides lightweight, heat and flame-resistant performance for many applications. There’s more than one reason why so many depend on Nomex. Inherently flame resistant, Nomex is three times stronger and offers twice the heat performance versus competitors. Nomex empowers endless possibilities, from design to testing to commercial availability. Nomex delivers reliable performance for increased confidence in the face of many dangerous conditions. Nomex provides proven, lightweight and durable solutions for a range of applications and industries. From keeping people safe while drilling beneath the earth’s core to rocketing into space, Nomex has helped pioneer new frontiers and tackle what was once considered impossible.
Fish Paper / Vulcanized Fiber
Fish paper is a durable, flexible, electrical insulator that’s made of vulcanized fiber and is a great material for custom gaskets and seals. Fish paper is a lightweight, dielectric, electrical grade paper with good mechanical strength. Fish paper is strong material, offering great durability and wear-resistance. It not only has good resistance against electrical currents, but also is very resistant to heat.
